Recently we completed a Porch & Garage Extension in Sale, Manchester. The building work that was undertaken for this extension is outlined below in detail:-
Foundations
Excavate foundations for proposed extension. Concrete to required depth.
Underground Drainage
Excavate trenches for drainage.
Prepare trenches with loose chippings base to provide stable support for drainage.
Install gullies and underground drainage.
Test drainage.
Examination and approval by Building Control Officer (Inspection 2) Fill back in drainage trenches with excavated material. Fill back in drainage trenches with excavated material.
Brickwork up to Damproof Course
Build up brickwork to damproof course height.
Incorporate damproof course.
Examination and approval by Building Control Officer (Inspection 3)
Solid Floor Installation
Install hardcore and compact to provide supportive base for solid floor.
Install sand blind
Install damproof membrane.
Install floor insulation with perimeter insulation.
Install reinforcement if required.
Install concrete to a level surface.
Install floor screed to give a level surface.
External Facings & Internal Blockwork.
Build up external brick to roof height.
Build up blockwork to roof height.
Incorporate specified insulation into cavity.
Provide cavity closers to all openings.
Install all necessary expansion joints.
Structural Works
Install structural steels and lintels as specified
Windows & Doors
Install windows as per specification
Install exterior doors as per specification.
Install cills and heads if required
Scaffold and Access
Provide all necessary scaffold and access equipment.
Roof Works
Install all necessary roof timbers as detailed in specification
Examination and approval by Building Control Officer (Inspection 3)
Batten and felt roof timbers.
Install roof covering as specified.
Soffit and Guttering

Specification
Supply and fix timber floors.
Supply and fix stud walling & insulate.
Supply and fix 2 single internal doors
Supply and fix double internal timber door frames & doors.
Supply and fix architrave to door frames.
Supply and fix skirting.
Box in all structural steels
Fix all necessary door furniture.
